"Hi, my name is Lauren and I'm here to discuss how to spike long hair. The longer the hair is, the harder it is for it actually to stand up on its own. Most pieces do not want to, they automatically will fall down because of the weight of the hair pushing down on it. If you'd like to spike a longer hair, you are going to want to use a very heavy product. Ultimately you're going to use something with a very strong hold. Any kind of very hard hold gel is a really great, any kind of thread based in order to really get your hair to stand up and spike. Sometimes it's a little bit easier when your hair is dry. If you blow dry your hair to stand straight up and then you do it. Sprays also work as long as its strong hold and you can spray them. There is a company called Spikers Gel which makes very hard hold gel and it's meant for that very, that longer spiked look, also your Mohawks and your faux hawks and things like that. So that is a good way to get your hair to spike even though it is a little bit longer. And that is how you spike very long hair."
