And host of ask Dr. Paul. Either way it's gone. It's either melted in the sun or you've eaten it. So either way it's gone. Same thing with your marriage. The advantages and disadvantages of a divorce. Well the advantages of a divorce happen to be that you are no longer going to be saddled with this person that you no longer love or worse yet no longer loves you or maybe didn't love you in the first place. Maybe it was a person who was in that divorce who had been totally narcissistic. Your needs your wants your desires meant nothing. So the advantage to that is that you no longer have to suffer the insufferable. Now the disadvantage. The disadvantage is your life is disrupted. There's always a price to pay. Is the price worth the reward. Ok. If you are willing to pay the price then the rewards speaks for itself. If the disadvantage is too much, I have to move out of the house, or I have to have him move out of the house and I'm with the kids and myself and the house, whatever direction it goes, the disadvantage can be highly expensive. The financial disadvantages of divorce are just outrageous. But they still are there, you got to pay the attorney's fees, you've got the alimony, you've got the child support, all of these things change the lifestyles of all involved, including the kids. Sometimes an open marriage is a way to go, so therefore you have no advantage or disadvantage. One does one thing, and one does the other and each does his own thing and you live in separate rooms in the house, and you stay together for the sake of the children. So that's an open marriage. Now the bottom line again is, the advantage versus the disadvantage what is the price you are willing to pay. This is Dr. Paul may your fantasies of today be your realities of tomorrow."
