"Hi there. If you are interested in how much money a massage therapist makes a year I can give you a little bit of information on this. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. Now there are many factors that influence a massage therapist's ability to make money. And these factors include location, season, target market, type of employment and number of hours worked. And a lot of therapists, a lot of massage therapists find it easy to survive and some find it really hard it just depends on where you work and your personal situation. Now typically massage therapists charge between forty five and seventy five dollars an hour for a traditional Swedish massage and of course these prices can go up in price according to which techniques that you use if you use more specialty type of massage like deep tissue it's going to go up. But there are a couple different scenarios that massage therapists usually work. Now if you work for your self of course you get to keep a hundred percent of the profit but you have expenses like marketing, and advertising, supplies, equipment and actually the room that you have to rent to actually give these massages. The other type of scenario is that you work for a spa. And in this type of situation you usually make fifty percent of what you charge. Because now the spa has to incur all the, those expenses, marketing, advertising, supplies and the equipment and the space. So it just depends on which scenario you prefer. There's, both of those have expenses that need to be taken out, so either you are going to pay for them or you are not going to pay for them. But you get paid less. And then one other scenario that massage therapists generally enjoy is working for a chiropractor. And they don't get paid fifty percent they just get paid by the hour. So depends on which chiropractor, you might get lucky and find one that's you know really willing to pay you nicely and some are kind of stingy so you just have to you know figure it out for yourself. But you have to remember that one of the main things that's very, very important to a massage therapist lifestyle is the ability to make tips. And so you have to always remember that. You have to consider that. But when you are considering where you are going to work and what type of employment you are going to enjoy, all those come into play. So there are many ways that massage therapist can make money and it just depends on which one you like best. So I hope you learned a little bit today. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. Take care."
