"Hi my name's Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to increase your Internet browsing speed. Let's go to our computer. What we're going to do first is we're going to open up our Internet Explorer browser. And one thing that we want to do is make sure we don't have any toolbars loaded here. Toolbars are good in a lot of cases but in some cases they use the, the Internet connection in the background even when you're not browsing. If I had a bunch of toolbars here, you know the Google toolbar, Yahoo toolbar I might want to turn those off to increase my browsing speed. To do that just go to tools and then select manage add-ons. And then we're going to select enable or disable add-ons. This shows a list of all of the add-ons that are running on your Internet Explorer browser and you can simply disable them here. The second tip for increasing your browsing speed is to defrag your, your hard drive. Let's go to our start button and open up computer. On Windows XP it will be my computer. Right-click on your C drive and go to properties. Then select the tools tab and then under defragmentation click defragment now. What this will do is this will organize the files on your computers hard drive so that they can be accessed quickly. This kind of will in general speed up your computer and will also help you with your browsing speed. The last tip is to download a program called TCPOoptimizer. Just search Google for SG space TCP space Optimizer. This program actually changes the way your computer uses its networking capabilities. It has options such as increasing your MTU which is the total number or total size of packets that can pass threw the Internet. It also has many tabs here that let you test your speed and change setting that might help them speed up especially at the registry. For help using this program just select help and say online help.
