"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews, today I'm going to show you how to find out if you have a network card in your PC and what type it is. Let's click on the start button, and we're going to go right click on computer, in the Windows XP it would be, my computer, but just right click on there and go to properties. Now in Windows Vista, we're going to click on device manger, this pulls up a list of the devices that are installed on your computer. What we're concerned with are network cards which would be under network adapters, lets expand the network adapters. As you can see I have several, the first one that's listed is a WLAN, which means it's a wireless network card. This one, the NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller is an Ethernet working card. I can tell because most of your wireless network cards will have WLAN or wireless, or something similar.
