"Hi, I'm Patti German, and I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, here in New York City. In this clip, we're going to talk about how to comfort someone, who has lost a loved one. It's very difficult to really provide comfort, for anyone who has lost a loved one, so I think the important thing, is to just listen, and be there for a person. You can't fix it. You can't make it go away. It's a grieving process, and it takes awhile, to go through the entire process, and comfort is just about being there, and hearing and listening, and letting your friend know, that you really care about them, and that you're sorry for the loss, and you can show this, be being with your friend, taking a walk, talking to them. It's not about fixing it, it's not about rushing, it's not about judging, or criticizing it. It's about understanding how deep the loss is, and it's real, and to be able, to just be able to be in the space with your friend. This is Patti German, in New York City."
