How to Start an E-mail Address

"It's time to communicate with the world. If you don't have email, it's time you should. I'm going to show you how to set up an email account, with one of the free email service providers. There are three common ones that are available, that are pretty easy to use, Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo. There are many others, but those are the three most common ones. We're going to use Gmail for our example. First, go to gmail.com, or google.com, and go to the Gmail link from there. Next, you're going to click on Create an account. It's going to ask you some of your personal information to set the account up, your first name, your last name, and a desired login name. Choose something that's meaningful. Choose something that's whimsical. Whatever you put in there, is going to be how you represent yourself, to everybody in the email world. Next, you're going to have to choose your password. Choose something that's pretty strong. I recommend upper case, lower case letters, numbers, and if it will accept it, special characters. You're going to need to choose a security question, such as your first teacher, or your first phone number as a child, and then you can put in a secondary email address in there, for contact outside of the Gmail system. It's going to ask your location, and then it's going to ask for a word verification for security, to make sure that it's not an automated program, taking the email address. You're going to have to read the Terms of Service, and click on I accept, and it will create your Gmail account. Now, this pretty much similar situation with Yahoo, or with Hotmail. The screens are very similar, and once you have one of these in place, you'll have an email account, that you can communicate with the world. Hope this helps you.
