"Hi, I'm Chris Cook, with Security Awareness Incorporated. So, you have a lot of information you need to download? Let's talk about how to make it faster. First, if you're using your home network and you're on a wireless router you probably want to switch over to a wired cable such as this Ethernet cable. A Ethernet cable is going to be much faster than going through a wireless connection. A wireless connection is going to top you out at at you know, probably about 56k, maybe a hun, one or two megabit at the most, but a wired connection is going to get you going a lot faster. Some home networks actually run at ten megabits or more. So, second thing you want to do is look at your PC. You want to make sure that any applications that are running are not interfering with the download itself. Matter of fact, if there are any unnecessary applications running you probably want to close them cause' they're taking processor overhead. You also want to know if you have technical capabilities. Look at the PC and the operating system to see if there are any services that are running that aren't necessary as well. Now, some people may think if they turn off their anti-virus that the downloads are going to go a lot faster, but let me tell you this; it's not worth doing. Don't take the risk to do that. So, once you have all your unnecessary applications going, you've got a wired connection, and you're already, you know connected to your Internet service provider with the best connection you can get there it's probably going to be the fastest way to get your information down. I'm Chris Cook, with Security Awareness Incorporated."
