Video Transcript

"Hello, my name is Luis Estrada and I am a software developer. In this video I'll show you what an HTML editor is. You can type by yourself all the necessary HTML tags to create your web page. You can even use a simple text editor like we did in the previous video. However, you will need to know most HTML tags by heart and be extremely careful in typing every single word correctly. Just one misspelled character could break your entire web page. Once your web page starts growing it can contain thousands of words in a single HTML file. Finding a mistake among them would be like finding a needle in a haystack. An HTML editor helps you with this because it is a great tool for creating web pages. Many great editors use a WizzyWig interface. WizzyWig stands for what you see is what you get. And it means that only using a graphical interface, you could create web pages without having to type any HTML code. What you see in the preview window of the application will be the final result when the web page is display in a web browser. For this series of videos we will be using FrontPage two thousand three. FrontPage is a registered trademark of Microsoft, a company to which I have no affiliation. FrontPage is both an HTML editor and a WizzyWig web designer. In the application you can choose between using the design mode or can create web pages without typing any HTML or the code mode where you could type the HTML. When using the code mode, FrontPages help you type HTML faster by presenting tag options and attributes for each tag. FrontPage presents different windows but makes including objects like images much faster. The skit option lets you use both the WizzyWig editor and the code editor at the same time. I'm Luis Estrada and I've just showed you how to create a multimedia web site using FrontPage."
