"Hi, I'm Gretchen Rivas with Relax To The Max Massage Therapy. Today we're going to talk about, how to train at home to become a massage therapist. One of the things that you'll learn is that, to become a certified or licensed massage therapist is you can't do all of your training at home, you can take some on-line classes that can knockout some of the more booked type subjects that you do have to learn at school, anatomy and some business classes, those types of things can be taught on-line. But one of the things that you might want to do before you enroll in a school, is maybe watch some of the video clips like on expertvillage.com, and practice on some friends, and see if massage is something that you really want to do, before you go spend 5, 10, 20 thousand dollars on an education. So starting your training at home is not a bad idea, because it gives you an idea whether or not you really like it. You can use different video clips, you can buy some books, practice on some friends. Of course only practice on friends that are in good health, because you don't want to cause any harm if you don't know what you're doing, but it gives you an idea whether you have the touch, and whether you have a gift or not, and your friends will be honest with you and tell you, "wow, you're really good at this, you should go get licensed for this", or they might say, "hmm, maybe you should find another line of work", but either way, starting at home to train is a good way to find out if this is a career for you or not. So that's how you want to train at home to become a massage therapist."
