"Tired of neck pain? What to get help with it? Hi, my name is Mark Brinson, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Physical Medicine Specialist. Neck pain can be a significant indicator that there's some else going wrong in the body so you want to make sure that you're not having any numbness, tingling or weakness in any of the extremities associated with the neck pain that's going on. Also, of course, you want to make sure that you don't have any fever, those are times when you might need to seek the help of a medical professional. If you want a few things that you can do, both from an acupressure standpoint and a stretch standpoint for any type of neck pain that you're having, I'm going to give you just a couple where you can self help. With stretches, there's a couple simple ones that, not only stretch the musculature, but they also help with stretching the actual acupuncture channels that are involved with neck pain, as well, and overall neck function. Simply turning your head all the way to the left, all the way to the right, secondarily, ear towards shoulder and ear towards shoulder, making sure you're not bringing shoulder towards ear. You can also turn your head to the side and then forty-five degrees back, forty-five degrees to one side, forty-five degrees back. Those are really good stretches that can help with neck pain. In addition to that, there's a few acupressure you can use as well. Stimulation LI four, in the web of the hand, stimulating LI eleven, at the crease of the elbow and stimulating points along either side of your sternocleidomastoid, your SCM, can help to alleviate neck pain. Also, I recommend that you see a really good massage therapist or certified neuromuscular therapist or someone that's skilled in manual therapy that can help you with your problems and make them so that they're a thing of the past, rather than a chronic recurring event. My name is Mark Brinson, wishing you balance in your life."
