"So,your small intestine giving you a little bit of trouble, or you've heard that it is? Hi, my name is Mark Brinson, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Physical Medicine Specialist, and Human Performance Specialist. The small intestine in Eastern Medicine, is tied very intimately to the heart channel. Both of which, can also be tied to anxiety. If you're searching for this on the internet, what you've probably found, is that the small intestine is kind of a complicated area. There aren't any specific acupressure points, just for that, that I could recommend, because you could either tonify it or sedate it, and it might not have the expected outcome that you want, but when you're treating this organ, what you probably want to do, is either move things along, or you want to make things move along a little slower, so on the abdomen, you can do counterclockwise motions, right around the umbilicus, through your belly button. That will stimulate the function of the small intestines, and stimulate function of the large intestines, to help with digestion, and elimination. Let's say you might be eliminating a little bit too much. What you can do, is counterclockwise motions, for a period of about one to two minutes, and a little bit more vigorously than I'm doing now. This will help you retain more fluids, and it will also help you cure any diarrhea that you might be having, but as with anything, if you're having persistent diarrhea, if you show any signs of fever, make sure that you contact your health professional. My name is Dr. Mark Brinson, and I wish you balance in your life."
