In the very bottom we will select the user accounts icon. Double click on that icon. This lists the accounts that are on the computer. To delete one select the account you want to delete by clicking on it. In order to delete the profile just say delete the account. It's going to ask you if you want to keep the users files or delete the user's files. If you decide to keep the files it's going to copy that user's files to a folder called my user on your desktop. I just want to delete his files, so I'm going to say delete. Now, it's going to ask you if you're sure you want to delete the account. Just say delete account; as you can notice that account is now missing. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to delete a profile in Windows XP."

on 5/25/2009 With all respect, I cant belive this blog. Anybody that can read just needs to follow windows step instructions. The POSTED question was how to remove a PROFILE, not a user. The exact list of profiles are under "Programs and Settings".Sometimes the list of profiles get large, even you only have yourself listed under users. If you just delete an unused profile, your system will realy scramble. If you just ignore them they eventualy will cause other problems.
