"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to use a computer to transfer audio tapes to CD's. What I have here is a boom box. You can use any boom box, as long as it has a tape deck, and some sort of headphone output, that's coming in through an 1/8 of an inch cable, and going into the microphone input, on the back of the computer. To transfer the audio, we're going to launch a program that's called Audacity. If you search the Internet for Audacity, it's a freely downloadable program. Let's just begin by pressing the record button in Audacity, and press play on our tape deck. As you can see, these hills and valleys that are in our audio track, are the recording of the audio that's going on. Let's stop recording, and stop the tape deck. In Audacity, you can click anywhere within your recording, and just press play to get a playback of what you've recorded. Now to get it to CD, let's go to file, and say, export as WAV, we'll save it on our desktop as a file called, music. Now let's close Audacity, go to the start all programs, and just launch your favorite CD burning software, now let's start an audio project, and we want to add a track to our CD, let's select our music file, and say, add. As you can see, the music file is the first track on the CD, just say next, and then click on burn to begin the burn process. My name is Dave Andrews, and I've just showed you how to transfer an audio cassette to CD, through your computer."
