Series Summary

Computers are complex machines built upon very simple principles. They perform arithmetical operations millions of times over to transform digital information moving at lightning speed into usable human data. A personal computer's job is to help a user create, manipulate, deliver, receive or delete media content. This is a simple, sterile definition that sounds uninteresting on the surface. Nevertheless, these fundamental functions mimic human ability in some surprising ways. Therefore, the computer is increasingly becoming an engine of the imagination, a platform for the digital life. Computer technology changes faster than people change socks. A computer is an investment that will keep running smoothly with proper maintenance. In this free video series, learn about computer software applications such as Microsoft Works and Microsoft Excel. Find out how to do basic tasks such as setting up e-mail notification in a browser and sending web pages as e-mail attachments. Not sure how to set up macro security or make pie charts in Excel? Watch this series and become a more advanced software user.

Video Transcript

"Hi my name is Dave Andrews, today I'm going to show you how to send web pages as an email attachment. To begin let's open up our web browser. As you can see I have a web page opened up in my web browser that I would like to send as an email attachment. To do so simply find the page button that's on the right side here, click on it. And come down and say send page by email. Your default email program will be opened up, and as you can see that page has been added into my email. I can also if I don't want to put it into the text of the email, select page and say send link by email. This one is slightly different, because it puts a link to the page in the text of your email rather than the page itself. My name is Dave Andrews, and I've just showed you how to send a web page as an email attachment."
