"Hey guys, what's up? This is Jacob from the Skateboarding Skateboard Park in Hempstead, North Carolina. Today I'm going to go over some basic skateboard moves with you. When you begin skateboarding the biggest thing is being familiar with your skateboard. You want to know where the nose is and where the tail is. Though they look similar, there is a difference between the nose and the tail. The nose of your skateboard will always have a little bit more of a kick and be a little broader than the tail of your board. Once you've figured that out, you also want to know what stance you are. If you're regular footed your left foot will go in the front, as you move this direction, if you're goofy footed, your right foot will be in the front, going this direction. I'm regular footed, myself, so I'm going to go ahead and stand on my board now, regular footed, and show you the basic stance for any skateboarding move whatsoever. Foot in the center of the board, front foot, foot on the back of the board, back foot, right over the tail. You weight's distributed vertically over the center of the bolts and to do any maneuver to lift it up, you can shift weight to the back of your foot, to gain momentum and catch your balance, you can shift weight to your front foot. Some basic moves as turning, put weight on the back of your foot and lift up on the front of your foot, right, left. This also will generate momentum. That's basically how to do skateboard moves."
