"So this cereal diet interests you to help accelerate your weight loss. My name is Mark Brinson, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Physical Medicine and Human Performance Specialist. The cereal diet came about as a way to add more fiber for a period of about 2 weeks to your diet in order to increase intestinal mobility and also help with some possible weight loss and restricting calories slightly. I have to mention that almost any fad or brief term diet can work but there are some certain principles that you need to follow, whether it's the cereal diet or even the cabbage soup diet. First of all, generally speaking, we need to try to eat more often. So about every three hours get something in to your system that tells your body it's not starving. That's going to lower cortisone levels, get you out a flight or fight response and make sure that your body is able to metabolize its food a lot better. Now with the cereal diet in particular, the idea is that several times a day you want to eat a very small amount of cereal of your choosing. Now, when I say of your choosing, it's much much better if you're eating something like, say for an instance, a raisin bran that's adding a high fiber content and something with limit simple sugars in it. To this you can add fruit. Also, it's suggesting that you add either vegetables or fruit throughout the day as well with a normal evening meal. This sounds like a fairly sound principle. And again, as long as you're not eating something that is one of the more sugary varieties of cereal. Now, really important after that week or two, you notice that you defiantly lose some weight. You want to get back on a meal plan where you are eating three times a day, excuse me, at least three times a day with maybe two or three snacks added in to it. And make sure you get enough protein. Adequate protein amounts are very important, not only overall brain, muscle and body function but also to help maintain your lean muscle mass which is going to help you to drop weight even quicker. My name is Mark Brinson, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Physical Medicine and Human Performance Specialist wishing you a happy, healthy and balanced day."

on 4/17/2009 chronically eating high carbohydrates foods won't work. Many studies have shown that you get hungrier when eating a high-carbohydrate diet. If the idea for eating cereals is to get a high fiber content, just eat vegetables instead. Recommending Raisan Bran is ludricous as it is loaded with sugar (ever see those "white particles" on the raisans? What do you they might be... uhh, maybe sugar?). Also, cereals "act like sugar" in your body because they are so easy to digest. Bad, bad advice.
Here's the real deal if want to lose weight quick and permanently (after all, we should changing our lifestyle, not embarking on short-term fixes). Did you there's actually a way to eat junk food on a regular basis in order to accelerate your weight (fat) loss? Yea, you should eat clean most of the time, but you should also add in regular days where you overeat on junk food - concentrating on sugary foods like pancakes, low-fat ice cream and sorbets, breads, rice, potatoes, rice pudding, etc. Before you think I'm off my rocker, I won the 1998 Body For Life contest eating this way. I'm now 48 and below 7% bodyfat. Learn more tips at my blog: http://www.harryjohnsonjr.com/effective-weight-loss-diet/why-is-your-new-effective-weight-loss-diet-broken/
