    "This is financial adviser Patrick Munro talking about the definition of a 401K plan. Once one individual is working and working past probationary period for a company. Often times a company will invite you to payroll deduct and put money out of your paycheck into it. Qualified plan, retirement plan known as a 401K. 401Ks are very useful for the employee. The employer also encourages their workers to save for retirement. For a time when they're not working for the company. You can be payroll deducted and many progressive companies will actually match the deductions. That you as an employee are making. They too receive tax benefits for helping you along in your retiring strategy. 401 is useful as it bills and grows larger and larger. You can move it, portable with you to another employer. Who also has a qualified plan. So you don't have to feel that you are tied to the same employer. However, if employers do match the funds. It's nice for employee retention. Although a lot of individuals will stay behind after that purpose. Eventually when you retire, you can roll over your 401K to a private IRA. An individual retirement account.
