"Hi, I'm Amelia, and I'm going to talk to you about how to color your hair. First when figuring out what you want to do, is you want to be honest with yourself. If you, if you have hair my color, and you want to be this light, it's going to take a lot more than just something that you get at the grocery store. I highly recommend going to your salon for that. However, if you're just wanting a few highlights, or you're just trying to cover some gray, then that's no problem, you can definitely do that at home. When first starting with coloring your hair, you're always going to want to section your hair into four sections. Doesn't have to be perfect, just make sure that it's sectioned off, divide it up, and then you start applying the color at the scalp. Now, if the hair's never been colored before, you want to make sure that you first apply the hair color to the mid shaft, which is this area right here. This is your new growth, this is your mid shaft, and these are your ends. Now your ends tend to be pretty porous, so you want to make sure that you don't pull the color all the way through until the very end of the process, in other words, until the color is either completely processed or when you're shampooing your hair. So, you take your bowl, your brush, or a bottle and you apply the color. You would pull it all the way through, except to the ends, make sure to leave the ends out. And, if you're concerned about getting it on the ends, take a little conditioner and scrunch it on your ends before you put the color on. Then you allow the color to process all over, the full amount of time that the manufacturer states, shampoo it out, and when you shampoo it, you can emulsify the color all over your hair, and that will refreshen the ends and add shine, and bring it all back to life again. And, that's how you color your hair at home."
