"Hi, I'm Kim with Simply Beautiful in Austin, Texas. Especially in the lower regions of the country we need to learn how to protect our skin from the sun. So, as usual, sunscreen is the best and number one way to do that. Sunscreen is rated between, say 5 and 50. The amount, the number on the sunscreens say 15 stands for how much longer you could stay in the sun with sunscreen on than you would be able to without burning. So, if you can stay ten minutes in the sun and then burn, then you can stay 15 minutes in the sun with a 15. When you're applying sunscreen to your skin, you want to apply a thicker layer than you would imagine, and you want to repeat it as often as possible. Sunscreens, even those that advertise themselves as waterproof, aren't as waterproof as you might like them to be. So, reapply the sunscreen about every hour. With Megan's skin, she doesn't burn that easily, but we're going to put some sunscreen on her anyway. So, using about a quarter size, we're going to, hold your hat please. We're going to start with her forehead, move down her cheeks, across her nose, on her chin. Don't forget the delicate areas of eyes, but don't get it on your lids because it tends to burn if it has a little PABA in it. So blend it, and just rub it into your skin. You know how you put lotion on? You're going to put it on like that. A little bit thicker than you imagine, like I said. Just keep blending it until you don't see the white anymore. Put your hat on, your sunglasses, and a good moisturizing lip balm that has a sunscreen on it, in it. You're going to be well protected from the sun."
