How to Dress Like Dita Von Teese

"Hi my name is Rachel and I'm a freelance fashion writer and the owner of austinstylewatch.com street fashion site and we're going to talk a little bit about how to dress like the famous pin up model and burlesque performer Ms. Dita Von Teese. So we are going to start with the famous Dita Von Teese hour glass figure. Now unfortunately not all of us were blessed with quite the curves of Ms. Dita Von Teese but frankly I don't think Ms. Von Teese was quite born with those curves either. So one of her favorite things is corsets. There are a lot on the market as far as corsets go and so it is important to understand what makes Dita's shape so that you know what to shop for. There is a little bit of difference between what you are going to ind in a sort of medieval corset like you find at like a renaissance festival and what Dita wears. It is important for Dita's figure to have the hourglass figure where you can clearly see the bust and the waist and a lot of medieval corsets are made such that they push the bust down and just create the cleavage over the top and that is not exactly the Dita look. So if you are going to find a corset you need to find a corset that has cups built into it or has extra room in the top or you can also get just the simple waist corset where the bust hangs over the top but doing that is going to get you closer to that Dita look of having the slim waist but the full bust and the full hips. The next thing you are going to need for the Dita look is she is a pin up model and she is a nude dancer but she is always classy and she is never trashy so when you are thinking Dita clothing or thinking Dita lingerie, you don't need to be thinking Fredericks of Hollywood so much as you need to be thing Victoria's Secret and La Perla so for her lingerie think classic colors, think classic cuts. If you can get corsets or any lingerie with the garter belts on it, a very classic pin up and burlesque look is to do the thigh high tights or stockings that are attached to the garters, very old school. As far as her dresses, she never wears something that is like empire waist line that hits under the bust or is that a drop waist. For Dita's dresses you are always going to find things that hit at that natural waist line and then again it accentuates that hour glass figure so if you are shopping for Dita looking clothing look for classic in 1950's shapes that hit at that natural waist line that makes your waist and your hips go bang. So this has been how to look more like Dita Von Teese."
