"My name's James Computer Hardware Training Coordinator for InterConnection. And I'm going to show you how to clean up a spill on your laptop. First step to cleaning up a laptop spill is not letting it happen. Don't keep your cup of drink, be it coffee, water what have you, near or on the laptop. Put it on the table other than the one you have your laptop on, on the floor, anywhere except the same surface the laptops on. Now if you did a manage to spill on your laptop, here are a few ways to clean it up. For one the first thing you want to do is quickly, right after the spill, take the laptop, put it on the side or upside down so all the large amounts of liquid will come right off the machine. After that my first thought is you want to unplug that laptop, take all the power away it. Unplug it from the wall if it's plugged in, and remove the battery. Once you've done that, what you want to do is clean up everything off the keyboard with a cloth. Just try to sponge up all the large amount of liquids just as quickly as you can. Get it all off there. Make sure all the power is away from the laptop and let it sit for a while, and hopefully everything will just dissipate. Now once you've done that, what you want to do is take some Windex or something similar and just clean all that stickiness off all the keys. One of the reasons why a spill on a laptop is much worse than a desktop, is right underneath this keyboard you have your video cards, your RAM, your processor all of the crucial components are right underneath this. So all that liquid needs to do is drip on the wrong thing and your laptop is turned basically into a paperweight. My name's James and I just you how to clean up a laptop spill."
