"Hi I'm Jason and former Mac genius and I'm here today to show you some tips and tricks on system ten. Today we're going to look at how to change the display resolution in Mac OS ten. This is clip two and so what we're going to do is we're going to get to it. And being access to your system preferences, the monitor preferences are down here. There's two ways to access first of all. This is one, and if you click on that you'll see your system preferences come up here. Another way to access it is through the Apple menu system preferences. They both bring up the same thing. At this point we're going to click on our displays, and here's our resolution. And you'll see two tabs up here, display and color. We're going to cover changing the display resolution, but right now I just wanted to show you the color tabs. You can set different color settings for this. And back in our display tab we're set at sixteen eighty by ten fifty now, and what we want to do is let's go up to nineteen twenty by twelve hundred. And you're going to see your screen go dark, so do not panic at this point. And this is what you're going to get. So you'll notice the text gets smaller, and what you want to use this for is if you upgrade your graphics card, and you're using Apples motion or anything like that. This is really handy because it allows you to get more pixels on the screen at basically high definition. If you're watching a movie you want to update your or boost your screen resolution up. So let's change it back to what we had it at, which was sixteen eighty by ten fifty. And that's pretty much that. If you want to have an icon so that you have quicker access, and the third way to quickly access your monitor control panels. You can click show displays and menu bar, and what this does is it puts a little icon up here in your menu bar. So you can access your resolution and change it without having to open your system preferences. So that's that, clip two how to change your screen resolution.
