"My name is Dr. Endre Sos and I will tell you shortly how to recognize illness in your rabbit. To recognize illness in a rabbit the most important thing to know how does your rabbit look like. In order to get his picture first of all you have to consult your veterinarian but most importantly you have to spend time with your rabbit. If you spend a few minutes each day you will know what is normal, how he or she looks like normally and then if you have this knowledge you will just recognize the changes. There are certain symptoms which can lead you to the fact that the rabbit is not healthy. The most important features are the loss of appetite, general lethargy and very important the change of the consistency of the feces. If the feces is too loose or very dry these are old symptoms of different diseases and if you see any of these you can immediately have to find your rabbit veterinarian because if the rabbit gets ill the symptoms of the whole process can be extremely fast. On the other hand if you have a good bond with your rabbit and you are touching it with a daily basis you will just recognize any kinds of wounds, bruises. These are also different signs of different diseases like allergy or any kind of traumatic injuries. These all must be treated. The other important thing is to have a general check up of your animal each day because these animals are also prone to have gastrointestinal disease so always check the tummy of the animal and if there is a lot of gas you can also give immediate relief for the animal. So basically most people recommend if this is your animal you know what is normal and then you can recognize all the changes that are happening with your animal."
