"My name is Endre Sos and I will tell you something, how to bond with your rabbit. First of all it is very important to know that rabbits are prey animals so they feel very often threatened and they have a lot of enemies in the wild. Therefore you need a lot of time and respect to create the proper bond. Timing and the continuity are very important words in this process so if you get a new rabbit and it arrives to her or his play area, just give always this rabbit a place which is safe for the animal. It can be the cage which is used for the transport and if you open it just give time for the animal to venture outside and explore its surroundings. On the other hand if you want to pet the rabbit or you want to have a closer contact with the animal approaching the animal, never use your palm, use your hand just facing the back part towards the animal towards this because this will give less threat towards the animal. If you are using your palms the animal can think that you want to grab or something like that. So the other thing the animals are very curious and they can explore you, they can approach you but give them time. So if you do not want to come close just sit in the area right there or just stand there one or two hours if you have the time and let the animals approach you because they are very curious and they want to see you. If they are not threatened and they don't feel threatened they will approach you for sure. The other very important thing to create is bond to offer some treat for the animals like a piece of banana or a carrot or an apple which are nice tidbits for the animals and if you provide them they will feel that I am not the enemy, I am not a harmful person and they will approach you so if you are giving the time you will have a nice bond with your companion animal."
