"Hi, I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. And if you've ever wondered how long it takes to train as a massage therapist, I can tell you. Now massage therapy schools, the number of hours that are required depend on what state you're going to take the hours in. Some schools require five hundred hours in Florida and some schools require much more. So once you have taken your school and you've graduated, you're, it doesn't mean you're a massage therapist yet. You still have to take your National Certification exam. And you don't want to take it right away so you have to also take into account the amount of time you're taking to study your National Certification exam. Then once you take your Certification exam, you'll find out that day how you did, if you pass, or if you failed, hopefully you pass and then it usually takes about a month or two after you take your exam to receive, to physically receive your license. So depending on the amount of hours required in your school and how long that is to start, depends on how long your final path is, how long your path is taking you to become a massage therapist. Now massage therapy school is great. What they do is they train you of course to work on clients as a professional massage therapist and the curriculum consists of many things that is very heavy; an anatomy, physiology and hands on work. And it's very important because you're in a, you're starting to touch people in a sort of an intimate situation and it can be really weird at first. So it's very heavy and hands on experience as the therapist which is very important to learn what to do but also as a client because you need to know what not to do. If somebody's practicing massage on you and they do something that doesn't feel good at all, it's good to be able to feel that so you know that you don't want to do that. Also, you end up being really, really close with these people and in the beginning it is kind of weird like I said to really be touched by people that you don't know but you end up being best friends with them by the end of the class. So, massage therapy school is actually a great experience. You meet a lot of new people and you learn a lot of great things and it's a great profession. So I hope you've learned a little bit today about how long it takes to become a massage therapist. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. Ciao!"
