"Hi I'm Judy carrier with Jewels by Park Lane and I'm going to talk to you about how to select a diamond. First of all determine what that diamond is going to be used for. Is it going into a ring? Is it going to be earrings? Is it going to be a beautiful necklace? Are you going to have just one knock out diamond or are you going to have a cluster of diamonds? One of the first things you should decide is how you are going to use it because that will make a big difference in what you look for. If you are going for a solitaire you want to make sure that the cut is prominent because that is what displays the brilliance of a diamond. It brings out the fire in the personality and a flawless diamond can be devalued by a poor cut so that is going to be your most important aspect of a solitaire. If you are going for something that is going to be used as a pin or a bracelet or a necklace or even earrings you might want to consider color as your most important aspect. Color can range from clear white which is the most popular for engagement rings that type of thing to red and black, yellow, blue diamonds there are so many different types so it depends on what it is going to be used for as to the type of color that you would want. As far as the carat weight that too is going to be determined by the size of the diamond what it is being used for and of course the size of your wallet because let's face it the larger the carat the more it costs and of course clarity is very important. You want to be able to see that this ring is special or this necklace or these earrings are flawless at least to the naked eye. Very few people are going to be examining it unless it is the engagement ring and of course you are just going to go like that, but anything else as long as you can't see a flaw or an inclusion or even a blemish with the naked eye you are pretty safe so at that point I would go for something that is really well set, something that has a style and that is a little unique so determine first what your diamond is going to be used for and then you can follow the other steps to decide how much you will spend."
