"Sunburn is a reaction to exposure, to ultraviolet radiation. I'm Jackie, with how to ease the pain of a sunburn. The top layer of your skin releases chemicals, that cause your blood vessels to expand, causing inflammation, redness, and sometimes, a lot of pain. The pain and redness will usually peak after about twenty four hours, and can be followed by blistering, itching, and peeling. If the burn is very serious, check with your doctor, before trying any home remedies. Take a cool shower or bath, as soon as you realize you have a sunburn. Don't wash with soap, but you can add peppermint tea to the bath, to cool the burn. Cover the sunburned area with 100% Aloe Vera Gel. It feels so good. If you don't have your own aloe plant, you can buy the gel at many health food stores, and even some supermarkets. It's really nice to refrigerate the gel first. Apply cool, wet compresses to reduce the heat, and swelling, for extra relief. You can soak the compresses in green tea, or peppermint tea. Wear loose fitting, breathable fabrics, to avoid irritating the sensitive area. Be careful not to pop the blisters, but if they pop on their own, apply an over the counter antibiotic ointment. Remember, to ease the pain of a sunburn, take a cool shower or bath. Try using peppermint tea. Cover the burn with pure aloe vera gel, and wear loose clothing. I'm Jackie, with how to ease the pain of a sunburn. Feel better."
