"Many games have been won and lost at the free throw line. Hi I'm Travis and this is how to shoot a free throw. First of all what you want to do is once everyone's lined up at the free throw line, you want to step and put your foot right in the center of the basket. Usually on many courts there's a dot right in the center and you can find it, there's one right here and it just happens to be on this outside court. You find it, you put your foot right in the middle of it, get the ball ready, preparing your hands, bend your knees that's important and then once you bend your knees you want to put the, put your hand in the center of the ball. A lot of these mechanics are the same as just a regular jump shot. Put your hand in the center of the ball, other hand, the other hand on the outside, raise your arm and elbow, elbow straight on the basket and when you release it's all one fluid motion. So it should look a little something like this. Make sure you're snapping your wrist so the ball has a backwards rotation. There you have it, that's shooting a free throw."
