"You know any day at the saltwater can be very fun and enjoyable experience. Hi I'm Captain Joe Bruni and what we are going to talk about is injuries occurred from your common jelly fish, sea anemone and coral type of stinging injury. Injuries from these types of sea animals can cause intense pain, itching and swelling to the site. Commonly the way these would be treated would be to rinse the area or apply a vinegar type of solution to the area for a minimum of thirty minutes at a time to help neutralize the poison that has been on and injected into the skin. After thirty minutes of a vinegar solution we would then normally cleanse the wound by using soap and water or some type of antiseptic type of solution and then go ahead and bandage the area and apply ice to help reduce swelling and pain after that. We would then commonly assess the area for secondary infection over the course of the next few days to determine whether we have some type of thing going on as far as secondary infection goes. Trip to the Nation's beaches can be a fun and enjoyable time. However, be careful of with the jelly fish, sea anemones and corals when entering our Nation's waters. I'm Captain Joe Bruni stay safe and we'll see you next time."
