"Hi, this is Sean Hobson, and what we're talking about right now is becoming a good fundamental defensive player. The best thing you can do to become a good defensive player is to move your feet appropriately. Now, a lot of times on defense, we'll see our defensive players not only have their feet too close together, and not wide apart, but a lot of times when they're moving their feet, they're shuffling their feet so close together that they're not covering a lot of ground. What you want to try to do to become a good, defensive player is try to make up, or cover as much ground as you possibly can, with just as few steps as you can. So, hold this for just one second. If you're going to be a good defensive player, and your down in a low stance, and I'm trying to get over there to guard somebody, I want to take big, wide steps and try to get there in just two steps, as opposed to taking small steps, and taking forever to get there. Remember you always want to stay on your toes, everywhere you go, and push yourself off and pop around on defense. So, Zack's going to get down in a good defensive stance, he's going to show you how to move your feet. As I'm handling the ball, what he's wanting to do with his foot work is, he's wanting to shuffle, take wide steps, and he's wanting to cut me off, as I'm dribbling to the right, he's wanting to get out in front of me, and try to turn me back the other direction. Once he jumps out ahead of me, then I'm going to turn back, and now he's going to be dribbling his feet, or moving his feet rather to get to the inside here. But, he wants to have wide stance, he wants to stay up on his toes and keep your hands out, and that's how to become a good defensive player."
