"In this segment we will be talking about abbreviations. Now in prior segments I have mentioned some of them but there are quite a few more and you can find a free resource at stitchguide.com on the internet which lists all of the abbreviations that are typical in most crochet patterns in the US. These include BEG which stands for beginning, CH for chain, SC for single crochet, DC for double crochet, DEC means decrease, HDC means half double crochet, INC means increase and SL means slip stitch. There are several others which you can find on stitchguide.com and most patterns will also mention the abbreviations in them. Once you get used to them you will find that it is really not that difficult to keep track."
