"Hi. I'm Billy Gent from Bill's Pet Shop, and today we're going to talk about bringing your new parakeet home and having the right supplies with it. When you bring him home, you're going to want a good cage, which we've already gone over. The next thing that you're going to need is a quality diet, and you have a couple of choices. You either have a vitamized seed diet and then a newer form is a pelleted diet. Both are excellent choices, however, the pelleted diet presents a few more pros over the seed. There's less weight and they get everything they need in one bite. Second thing that you want, to for a good diet is a good supply of treats. The more variety they have, the better. You also want to make sure that you have a high quality multivitamin for supplementation. A cuttle bone is another necessity. Cuttle bones allow their beaks to stay trimmed down and provides an important calcium source. And don't forget the toys, everybody likes toys. Birds need them for mental stimulation as well. And then finally, a great book on birds. Books provide tons of information that we just can't cover in these short minute segments."
