"In this tape we are going to talk about how to become a probation officer. A probation officer is a plain clothes position. It is a position whereby you visit people who have been arrested and put on probations, homes, work, and also you talk to family members. Each and every state is different. I would suggest that you contact your state in which you live in and that you get information from them in terms of what requirements are required. You must have I know, at least a four year college degree in order to get in because without that they won't take you. So you must have a college degree and there is also some entry level exams that you must take and that you must pass. It is a position that is very rewarding because again it is like a law enforcement position, the law enforcement officers are bringing the justice and once justice is done and they have given probation, your job is to make sure that they are still compliant with the orders of the court. How do you become a probation officer? Contact the county or the state that you live in, pick up an application, fill the application out and again be very truthful about the information that you apply to the application because once again, you will see that a polygraph."
