"Hello, I'm Sifu Mallan with the Clearwater Kung Fu Center. This is my assistant Melissa and this is kick boxing. We're going to go ahead and demonstrate our kick boxing warm up using our jump rope. This is called alternating hop. To show you the foot work for alternating hop is basically you start from a basic hop. O.k., and then you go to a single foot lift. As you notice, I'm pulling my toes up as I'm hopping I'm keeping my heels off the floor. I'll demonstrate this with a rope and have Melissa show you a few times. So I start with my cross swing, arm open, basic hop. In basic hop I start alternating which foot I lift up as I hop. One foot up one foot hop. Melissa go ahead and move forward and let's demonstrate this. So she begins with her basic cross swing and then she opens up basic hop. From the basic hop she starts alternating the feet. You'll notice that her toes are pulling up, she's staying off her heels and she has a nice rhythm from side to side. Very good, Melissa. This is how we demonstrate alternating hop kick boxing."
