"You know consumer fireworks can add to a lot of fun at parties, get together and holiday events. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni with over 3 decades of firefighting, hazardous materials, and emergency medical response experience. What I'm going to talk about is one of the general safety guidelines to be followed with the use of commercial or consumer fireworks. Consumer fireworks are not toys. They should never be carried in the passenger compartment of any vehicle. They should always be carried in the trunk or the bed area of a pick up truck. Not inside where passengers can have an accidental mishap occur. At no time should fireworks be lit from a moving vehicle, or thrown from a moving vehicle, as this poses a hazard to the firework dropping back inside the vehicle, and causing either a burn or a blast type of injury. So as a common, general safety guideline, fireworks should never be carried in the passenger compartment of a moving vehicle, only in the trunk or the bed of a pick up truck. And they should never be used, lit, or thrown from a moving vehicle. Stay safe. I'm Captain Joe Bruni, and we'll see you next time."
