"Add a lot of fun during any party or holiday event. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni with over 3 decades of firefighting, hazardous materials and emergency medical service response experience. What we're going to talk about is how to designate the launch area for fireworks display. With consumer fireworks an area should be designated as a launch area, where the shooter and the safety person that is designated can keep an eye on, and supervise all the events at the launch site. All unused fireworks that are in the general area that are going to be used later in the display, should be kept clear of this launch area and well out of harms way and out of the hands of unsupervised children and teenagers. Unused fireworks that are in the launch area, pose a hazard for not only burn injuries, but blast injuries, if they accidentally ignite all at the same time. This has become a frequent occurrence across the nation, resulting in approximately 10 thousand injuries per year in the United States. Remember, keep all unused fireworks well away from the launch area, and only light 1 firework at a time. I'm Captain Joe Bruni, stay safe, and we'll see you next time."
