"Hi, this is John Stewart, and this is how to set up the rain fly on your tent. Most tents come with a rain fly, as a separate piece, some of them come all put together to where you just state out the rain fly. If you do have a tent with a rain fly as part of the actual tent, all you have to do is stake it out nice and tight and just get it pulled firmly on the tent to where when it rains, wind and stuff like that doesn't penetrate into the tent and it just rolls off the side of your tent and doesn't pool up under your tent. Most tents, though, they have a second rain fly that's unattached and you have to attach it to the tent. This will go right over the top of the tent, it normally Velcros or clips to the poles, and then you just stake it out nice and tight. You want to have it nice and tight and staked out in all the proper areas so that the water does run right off the side of your tent, and off to the side, to where it doesn't build up under your tent or catch your rain, your ground tarp so it doesn't pool up under your tent. This is going to be key so that you don't have mildew, water pooling up under your tent and other things like that. Once you do have it put on, you just want to make sure that it's tucked all the way around the edges and that you don't have any tears, rips, or anything like that. And this is how to set up the rain fly when setting up your tent."
