"Hello my name is Officer Mike Roach. I currently work with the Utah department of Wildlife Resources as a Conservation Officer or Game Warden. Today we'd like to talk briefly about becoming a game warden. To become a game warden you need to be at least 21 years of age. You must also have a bachelors of science degree in a natural resource related field. You also need to be fairly physically fit and pass a physical test because you're going to be required to become a peace officer in whatever state that you work. You're also going to be able to have to pass a background investigation so that you can be certified as a peace officer. Becoming a game warden requires a lot of physical activity. You're often required to hike and be out in the environment. And you need to be fairly physically fit. One of the other requirements is you need to be able to fish because we check a lot of fishermen and we work out of a lot of boats. And because of that you need to be able to swim. Becoming a game warden is a very rewarding career and very few people, most people that start as becoming a game warden will spend their whole life doing it because it's a very good job."
