"I'm Jeanna Rock and we're talking about why you should join a book club. The reason why I joined or I created our book club is because I really wanted to discuss literature with adults, not high school kids. Now that probably isn't the reason why other people would want to but joining a book club can be a very intellectual experience. For one thing, you can actually have discussions with people about the literature that's being talked about and you can actually sound smart. Another reason to join the book club is because you can create a community and make new friends. Our group has been meeting for ten years, eleven years. And we have become very, very close friends, even though we really didn't know each other that well at the beginning. Another reason to join a book club would be to expand your reading. I know that sometimes we have a tendency to read the same kind of literature over and over again. And so when you're required to read something different, it forces you to get out of your comfort zone. And I know a lot of the women in my group has had their comfort zone tested."
