"Hello, I'm Shi Fu Mallon with the Clear Water Kung Fu center. This is Kung Fu for health. The jump that we're going to be working on is called Northern jump. This jumping exercise is to develop the explosiveness in your legs. And jumping and landing ability. in the beginning of this, we're going to break it up into several different movements. The first movement is just your basic, jump and land. So it's basically starting up from a small hop position. So the hop starts, this way. Arms are just loose down, by your side. And as your feet land, you're pushing off from heels, up to your toes. And thrusting yourself, up. The next part of the exercise is, where your feet are flicking up. Both feet at the same time are going to lift. And hit to the side of your body. Your leg lifts and your hands are going to smack the side of your foot, here. And coming back, down. This is a two beat rhythm. So you're going to go up. Land, jump, hit your feet. This is called Northern Jumping, Kung Fu for health."
