"In this clip, we're going to make a Christmas scene with Father Christmas flying through the sky. For this clip, you need some strong white card- a rectangle of it, a strip, and a smaller square; some decorations, scissors, and a stapler. So we start off with a rectangle of card. And on it, I want you to draw some roofs, as if they're tops of the roofs of a row of houses. So really, they just need to be zig-zags, but you can draw on some chimneys. That's because Father Christmas is going to visit them. They don't all need to have chimneys, just some of them. And you can draw a window down below, so the people will understand that those are houses. There's a window. And that's got a window. You don't need to do doors, because right at the top of the house, you don't see the doors. We can double that line up, and so you know you've got roofs up there. I think on this house, somebody's been a bit fancy and put a Christmas tree on the roof. I've seen people do that sometimes, with some stars on it. Now up in the sky, to show that it's nighttime, we'll put some little cut out sticky back stars. There's one. There's two. As many as you'd like of these, or if you've got some glitter, you can use that. Whatever you want to make the Christmas sky look lovely and glittery and sparkly, because Father Christmas is going to come. There we go. Now then, here's the fiddly bit coming up. We need to fold it in half and do a couple of chop and stops in the middle. So there's a chop and stop there. And there's a chop and stop there. Now you've got the chop and stops in the right place. And you just extend them, but stop before you reach the edge. Extend it up and stop before you reach the edge. So you haven't cut your card completely up. You've got two slits going all the way along in the Christmas sky. Now, you need to get a thin piece of card, and push it up through one slit and down through the next slit. What can that be for? Well, we want Father Christmas to be riding across the sky. So on the small piece of card, I want you to do a drawing of Father Christmas. Don't worry about it too much. You can just do a circle for his body, and a circle for his head, then color in his beard, give him some eyes, and he has a big triangle-shaped hat. Doesn't he? And a red nose. If you've got some red, you can color his nose in red. And he's on a sled. So here's the sled, curled at the front, curled at the back. And here's his big boots, because it's a cold night out. There's his boots. And here's his arms, holding onto all the parcels. Can you draw some parcels on the sled? Christmas present parcels all over the place. There we go. I've colored him in on that side, but he still hasn't got any parcels. Right. Now then, you need to cut him out. Another fiddly job. Another job that you might need somebody big to help you with, if you want to. Cut along the bottom of his sled, around his parcels, around his hat, and down the other side of his hat. And there he is. Now then, the last job is to fasten Father Christmas onto that bit that's showing. That's the bit that's showing. So let's put a dot there and then know where he needs to get fastened. There, because I don't want him to be in the wrong place. I've pulled out that strip. I've got Father Christmas and put him on the dot. Then I'm going to staple him at the sides onto there. And then, push the strip back through the slit that way and through the slit that way. There we go. Now then, here comes Father Christmas. I wonder if he's coming to your house. Here he goes through the sky. Can you hear him singing? "Jingle bells. Jingle bells. Jingle all the way. Oh what fun we have to ride on a one horse open sleigh." He can even go backwards. Here he comes, boys and girls. It must be Christmas. So that's how to make a Christmas scene with Father Christmas moving along it."
