About Laptop Batteries That Won't Charge

"Hi my name is Dave Andrews and today I am going to talk to you about laptop batteries that won't charge. Now if you have a laptop that you have just purchased new you can normally expect that you are going to only get about three or four good years out of your laptop battery. At that point you are going to have to replace it, purchase a new one or buy one from the manufacturer or such because they are really not something that can be repaired. Laptop batteries will recharge but they will only recharge so many times and one thing to keep in mind about recharging your battery while it is still good is not to over charge it because if you leave it plugged in all the time and you over charge it you are actually reducing the lifetime of your battery. Now one way to tell if your laptop battery actually is dead and will not charge is turn your laptop on and pull the power cable out. If that laptop dies which mine didn't chances are your battery is no good. I would check to make sure that the battery is plugged in good. There is a little latch that typically holds a laptop battery in and it is spring loaded and if you stick that battery in and that latch pops into place then you know your laptop battery is in correctly. So basically once you know you have it in correctly, plug it in, let it sit for a little while then turn it on and just unplug it and then you'll know whether or not your laptop battery will charge. Now if your laptop battery is not holding a charge at all chances are it has outlived its lifetime and your only real recourse is to contact the manufacturer and purchase another battery for that type of laptop.
