"What is a news anchor's job? I'm Glenn Selig and I spent two decades as a news anchor and reporter and now I am CEO of Selig Multimedia. But, what is exactly a news anchor's job? It has a lot to do with the station you're working at, the city you're working at, and the type of person that you are. For example, if you're the type of person that likes to do a lot and you're a news anchor, you probably can do a lot. If you're working at the type of station and you're the type of person that does not like to do a lot, you could probably get away with not doing a lot at all. So, it really runs the gamut as to the type of person you are, the type of job you hold, and the station that you're working at. So, in some cities the news anchor does a whole lot. They write the copy, they read the copy that they're presenting to you. They have a lot to do with the gathering of that news information that you're eventually hearing about on TV. And in some cities all they're doing is showing up fifteen minutes, a half hour before the newscast and just reading a teleprompter. Those are the words that go in front of the screen and they're just reading it to you, just moments that they got back from their dinner break. So, it really depends on who you are, the station that you're at, and the type of place, and they environment that you to be in. And that's the job of a news anchor. I'm Glenn Selig."
