"Hi I'm Harvey Whitey owner of Perfect Tan here in Orem, Utah we have a full service tanning salon with all kinds of different tanning beds as well as a state of the art spray on tanning system. I often get asked you know can you get tanned even if you have, got sunburned. And the answer is yes I mean you are still going to get a little bit tanned but the problem is with the sunburn is you are going, you damage the skin number one because you are over exposed to the sun. And that's going to peel and then it's going to take time to, before you are going to be able to even tan again. So you got to be careful out in the sun. In a tanning salon is more of a controlled atmosphere but chances are you are not going to get burned unless you are really fair complected and you over expose so you always want to make sure your tanning time is to a minimum. Like I said outside with a sunburn you are going to peel, you are going to have a little bit of tan and a little bit of color but I don't know if it's worth it to get a sunburn to try to get a tan. Tanning is a process. You want to start out slow, build your tan base, develop the skin into a nice even tan. Don't, do not get over exposed especially in the sun. Because it is very damaging. In a tanning salon most tanning beds are a maximum of twenty minutes. I always suggest to people if they are very fair complected to start out slow build your time, never burn. If you feel prickly or stingy, the next day you over exposed yourself. So go slow build our tan base and you'll have a deep dark tan after that."
