First and foremost you must possess a four year degree. You then must be able to pass an eye exam and have vision no worse than 20/40. You cannot have had any type of eye surgery, to include Lasik. PRK surgery is waiverable. If a candidate passes these requirements. They then take the written air test. You must pass the written air test. Which for the Marines, the standard is much higher than any of the other Armed forces. That's how the Marines are the only of the Armed forces who can guarantee a spot in the aviation program.
