"Hi, my name is Anthony Baron Kirk. I've just covered some of the major causes of knee pain and dysfunction. I'd like to cover cover just some of the minor causes as well. We sit down a lot. Professionally we have a seated position much much too much. So the hip flexor complex what we think of de-activating the gluteal complex. So we sit on our butt too much. If you can think about the glutes as your butt muscles. The weaker and less active these muscles are they don't stabilize the knee joint. So when properly assessing someone for knee pain, we look first at some of these areas that are hyper-tight. And then we look at the areas that have been de-activated. So again hip flexor complex kind of you can think of that as the upper portion of the thigh. And then your gluteal muscles are your butt muscularity. So when exercising what we see with these overall patterns is people putting themselves into these overuse situations. So if we are already very active in our thighs and hip flexors, we go and exercise and we just continue to build upon these areas that are already over-active. So again addressing some of these overall issues we want to think first how do we find balance within the body to properly assess knee pain. And then build upon those areas that are weaker. I guess the final most important thing in all exercise routines, and especially just when talking about knee joint pain, would be building deep core strength and deep stability within the core complex."
