"In this clip, I'll show you how to edit that audio file that you just imported. Most of the times when you import an audio file, they're not the exact size that you need. So what we're going to be able to do is show you the different tools that are used to shorten, lengthen, or loop that file. Up at the top part of Pro Tools editing window, you'll see a few different blue squares. One of those is the shortening tool, which all three, when these three are highlighted, any one of them could come up, based on where I am on the file. If I'm at the end of a file, front or back, it's going to bring up the shortening tool. If I'm on the bottom it's going to bring up the hand tool which allows me to shift the file. And this icon type tool just allows me to change where the cursor for playback is so that I get a chance to hear different parts of the audio file. And to loop a file, there are several ways to do it, you can do apple D which will instantly take it to the end of the region it's on. So if you know you have a perfect four of our loop, you can just hit apple D and it will create a loop. To get rid of that hit control Z, and it will undo what you just did. Otherwise you can do option click, which will allow you to create copy and move it over. As well as you can do the standard copy and paste."
