"Now I'm going to show you how to remove stuck slides. Let me just tell you first off that the reason why slides usually get stuck is because they're usually either gummed up inside, which means they're usually pretty dirty, or there is a little dent in the slide itself, or it just might happen to be bent, the whole body of the trumpet. Now first of all, we're going to go ahead and use a little bit of our penetrating oil to spray just a small amount of it at the joint where the slide goes into the outer slide. We'll want to let that sit for a little while just to try to let the oil penetrate itself into the gap. After we've let that set a little while, we'll go ahead with our little rawhide mallet, and very gingerly tap on the outside of the stuck slide. If you can't remove your slide after you've done all of those things, I recommend that you take your trumpet to your nearest repair professional so they can remove your slide, otherwise you can do some real damage to your instrument. And that is how you remove a stuck slide from your trumpet!"
