"Hey, how's it going? Bobby Larew here talking about diving, still. What I wanted to give you right now is just a little bit on scoring, how scoring works in diving, and how I can help you get the best score possible. If you don't know, scoring starts at zero, and goes all the way up to ten. Now in my personal career, the lowest score I've ever gotten on a dive was two points. It's pretty bad. The best I ever got was eight and a half. I was real excited. As a judge, I have given a nine and a half. It was a really nice dive. As a judge, I've also given a big zero. I gave a zero because the dive was terrible! I don't want you to get that. So when a judge sees you in your approach, and you start the dive, and they're looking for a few things. They really want to know how you carry yourself on the board. It's important. I actually had a judge tell me one time, he liked the way I carried myself. My confidence, my posture, my fingers together, my arms nice and straight, no bent elbows, walking smoothly along the board, making sure that my shoulders were up and back. All those things. Even a nice, relaxed smile on your face can help you get better scores. And I'm going to be honest with you. One time I had a judge tell me she gave me a good score 'cause she liked my bathing suit. Okay? So anything you can do will help you."
